Beaumont north-end fire ruled arson

Posted: Updated:

Beaumont fire investigators say a north end fire was deliberately set.

Beaumont Fire Captain Earl White tells 12News HD dispatchers got a call just before 11 p.m. about a blaze at a vacant house located at 2590 Linson Avenue. The house was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.

Fire crews remained on the scene until just after 1 a.m. Saturday.

The house is heavily damaged from the fire. Captain White says the house is a total loss.

Captain White says the investigation has just begun and they do not yet have any suspects. The person who started the fire faces a felony charge that carries from 10 to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Anyone with information about who may have started the fire could be eligible for a cash reward through Beaumont Crime Stoppers. The number to make an anonymous tip is (409) 833-TIPS.

There were no injuries reported.
