Malnourished Horses Found on Robstown Ranch Property

Posted: Updated:
ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

Two horses have been found dead and several extremely malnourished on a ranch property off of FM 892 and Highway 77.

The Nueces County Constable was paying the property a visit to check on the owner to make sure they were okay, when they noticed the horses. The two dead horses appeared to have been dead for around two weeks.

Corpus Christi Animal Control was on the scene investigating on Monday, but the owner of the property has still not been found.

A warrant has been issued to seize the horses, but it was decided that the horses would be held on the property for their best interest. The courts will eventually decide what they will do with the horses.

People in the area said that the owner was going through financial trouble and could not afford food for the horses. The horses did have water but didn't have food.

Kiii News Reporter Anayeli Ruiz went Live from the ranch property with the latest.
