Robstown Police Seek Alleged Gas Thief

Posted: Updated:
ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

Robstown police need your help capturing a man accused of stealing over $1,000 worth of gas over the weekend.

It happened at a Shell station off of Highway 77 in Robstown. Surveillance footage shows the alleged crook handing over a prepaid debit card to the clerk. Instead of swiping the card to verify it, the clerk decided to hold onto the card while the man filled up. It turns out, the man had a tank in the back of his truck, and filled it up with $1,000 worth of gas.

The man then drove off, leaving the clerk with a prepaid card that turned out to have no money on it. In fact, the card was actually stolen.

If you recognize the man, you are asked to call Crimestoppers at 361-888-8477.
