CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

It was a close call for the driver of an 18-wheeler Wednesday afternoon, after he accidentally snapped a power pole in two.

The driver of the truck was delivering some clothing to a store in a shopping center off Alameda when the accident occurred. The incident knocked out power to several business there, including Wallbangers and a fitness studio called Your Personal Best.

Despite the power loss, the owner of that business said they made do.

"I am out of power. I have a 4 p.m. client, and she was here and she was warming up on the bicycle with no electricity," business owner Lisa Wright. "I opened up the window and you know what, we worked out anyway. I have a large group coming in at 6 p.m., and they don't know it but we're going to train in the ditch right across the street."

The driver of the 18-wheeler was cited for the accident.
