Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Friday Night Sports Blitz- Part II

The Gregory-Portland Wildcats faced an interesting challenge on Friday night as they hosted Victoria East. The Titans came into the game still looking for their first district win of the season against a G-P team that they beat last season in Portland. Wildcat QB Tanner Geiser broke two long-distance touchdown runs to power G-P to a 35-20 win.

The Alice Coyotes hosted Laredo Cigarroa in hopes of shaking off a disappointing district-opening loss last week at Flour Bluff. With a full house on hand, the Coyotes wasted little time in playing their way back into the thick of the District 31-4A race with a lopsided 37-0 win.

Kingsville played its final pre-district tune-up game Friday by hosting the Robstown Cotton Pickers at Javelina Stadium. The Brahmas look good-to-go for their first year in Class 3A after a 42-6 win at the Cotton Pickers expense.
