Posted: Updated:

The better part of a Vidor home in the 1200 block of Archie in Vidor was destroyed by fire Saturday.

The Vidor Fire Department and various other departments battled the blaze which engulfed much of the house around 4 p.m.

Firefighters say no one was home during the time of the fire.

An elderly disabled woman lives at the home, but was away at a family function.  The American Red Cross is assisting with temporary living arrangements.

Investigators have not yet released a cause of the fire.
