October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and Saturday we went pink right here at the KIII-TV3 studios. Our parking lot was filled with 1,000 pink pumpkins up for grabs and hundreds came out to support the unique fundraiser.
With in an hour and a half the pumpkins had disappeared for the first pink pumpkin patch benefiting the American Cancer Society.
Residents from all over the Coastal Bend came out to pick up their pink pumpkin and honor the special women in their lives who have been affected by cancer. For three weeks employees with radiology associates have been working hard painting the pumpkins and they say their hard work paid off.
"I think it will be awesome to show support for breast cancer awareness and hopefully it will spread the word for awareness through out the community," says Carmen Arias with Radiology Associates.
If you weren't able to make it out Saturday, don't worry you have two more chances to get your pink pumpkin. They will have them at La Palmera Mall next Saturday October 13, 2012 and Saturday October 20, 2012 at Brewster Street Icehouse.
