Family Feud Leads to Violence on Jose Street

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A feud between neighbors turned violent, sending one person to the hospital and three people to jail on Sunday.

The violence broke out just before 2 p.m. on Jose Street. At first, police were called out to a shots fired call, but when they arrived to the scene, they found a 16-year old girl with cuts to her face and arms.

According to police, two families got into a fight. That was when someone grabbed cutting sheers and attacked the girl. That person was arrested on aggravated assault charges. Two others were also taken to jail on misdemeanor charges.

Police said it wasn't their first time dealing with this particular family feud.

"Apparently police were out here last week," said Lt. Patrick McMenamy with the Corpus Christi Police Department. "It's an ongoing issue, and you can imagine it's probably going to get worse after this."

The victim was taken to the hospital for her injuries. She is expected to make a full recovery.
