Officials Still Investigating Cause of Flato Warehouse Fire
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Fire investigators are still looking into the cause of a weekend fire that destroyed a warehouse on this city's northside.
The structure, one of several owned by a San Antonio-based company that makes restraint cables for the oilfield, went up in flames Sunday afternoon. Fire crews responded just before 1:30 p.m., and took more than three hours to contain the blaze.
As far as the cause of the fire, City Fire Marshal Andy Cardiel said it is going to take investigators some time.
"It's going to take us a few days to get a handle on what happened there," Cardiel said. "We've asked for some assistance from the State's Fire Marshals Office. It's going to be a slow process. Fortunately, nobody was injured."
Owners of the warehouse said they plan to rebuild and there will be no layoff or loss of work for any of the employees.
