Area High School Students Attend Skills USA Conference
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
More than 250 area high school students flocked to Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi for the Skills USA District Conference Monday.
Skills USA is a non-profit youth organization that teaches trade and industrial education. Nationwide, it serves over 15,000students and professional members. The area leadership conference takes place once every fall.
Students said they are learning skills that reach far beyond grade school.
"It goes beyond high school students," said Kareni Martinez, district 12 president. "It's high school students stepping up to the plate to become the next leaders of the world."
Students attending the conference Monday will go back to their respected regions to pass on the what they learned to peers.
