Last Day to Register to Vote in November Elections

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Tuesday, Oct. 9, is the last day to register to vote in this year's upcoming November elections.

Mailed registration forms need to be postmarked with today's date, but you can also visit your local Voter Registrar's office at 901 Leopard St., Suite 301.

For those who are registered to vote in a precinct outside of Nueces County, you can apply to vote by mail. A completed and signed application must be submitted by Oct. 30. The application can be submitted by mail or in person at the main early voting polling location.

To be eligible for a ballot by mail, you must be 65 years or older, be disabled, be out of the county on election day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance, or be confined in jail, but otherwise eligible. To request an application for ballot by mail, click here.

    Two Edinburg Police Officers are recovering after they were shot Tuesday evening in La Joya as they attempted to serve a capital murder warrant. The suspect in the shooting, 29-year-old Joaquin Cibrian, was shot and killed following an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Cibrian was arrested in September of last year in Alice for allegedly using city equipment and materials to make extra cash. He was a city employee at the time.More >>
