The Boys & Girls Club of Corpus Christi is getting a little extra assistance. The Coastal A's and Rods, a local car club, presented them with a $500 check Thursday.

The money will benefit after-school programs for children in the organization.

"All of us, most of us in the car club have kids, and we like to see them do well in the community and to stay out of trouble," said John Peck of the Coastal A's and Rods.

Coastal A's and Rods is donating money from their car show to six other organizations in our area as well.
