Homeowner Thwarts Car Burglary, Holds Suspect for Police - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

A homeowner caught a thief in the act this weekend, and then held him at the scene until police arrived.

According to police, the victim was in his home when he heard his dog barking loudly from the garage. When he went outside to investigate, he found William Lutes getting out of his car.

Police said the victim grabbed Lutes before he could walk away, and ordered him to stay put until authorities arrived. The burglar listened, and did not even put up a struggle.

Lutes was charged with burglary of a vehicle.
