CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A former teacher in the West Oso School District was killed in a horrible accident over the weekend in Houston.

A man accused of driving while high on the drug PCP is behind bars in connection with the accident.

Meagan Jones, who recently worked at West Oso as an elementary teacher, had reportedly stopped at a gas station along with a male friend, identified as 24-year old Ricardo Quenton. According to police, a driver that was allegedly high on the drug PCP slammed into their vehicle, killing them both instantly.

That driver, 33-year old Theodore Hargrove, had reportedly run through a red light and swerved into the gas station parking lot just before the impact.

"It's the worst kind of situation," said Sgt. S. Sorge of the Houston Police Department. "You know, just over here trying to make some purchases at the gas station, and their lives were tragically ended so quickly."

Hargrove, who has a long criminal history including previous drug offenses, now faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter.
