A man getting gas in Beaumont says he was robbed by a man posing as a policeman.

The victim said he was getting gas at a station on the corner of Eastex Freeway and Delaware Street when a two-door black truck pulled up. A man who identified himself as a police officer asked to see the victim's ID. When the victim took out his wallet, the man grabbed it and tried to run away.

The victim had a small chain on his wallet which was attached to his pants, so the robber took out the money, gave the victim back his wallet and left North on Eastex in the black pickup.

The victim was uninjured in the robbery.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at (409) 833-TIPS. You can also give a tip to crime stoppers by using the link on the left side of this page.
