Driver Cited for Failure to Yield After Staples Accident
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
An accident on Staples Street left a car with significant damage Tuesday morning.
It happened at around 9:30 a.m. A car was pulling out of a fast food restaurant and failed to yield to traffic. That's when a truck heading westbound slammed into the car.
"The truck didn't have a chance to slow down, really, with the wet streets," said Sgt. Michael Goodman with the Corpus Christi Police Department. "He pulled right out in front of him before he had a chance to hit his breaks."
Neither of the drivers were seriously injured. However, the driver of the car was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
A citation was issued to the driver of the car for failure to yield the right of way from a private drive.
