CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Halloween came early this year for patients at Driscoll Children's Hospital. Volunteers with Spirit Halloween Store took an entire Halloween event to Driscoll on Tuesday.
The festivities included free costumes, games and all sorts of arts and crafts. Hospital staff said it is important for the patients to have a little fun and forget about their illnesses.
"They're having a great time," Child Life Specialist Mara Ellis said. "They're really enjoying getting costumes, and they're thinking about when they finally get to get out of the hospital, what they're going to be, and they're looking forward to their holiday fun."
It all took place Tuesday afternoon. Siblings of the patients were also eligible for a free Halloween costume.
