One local non-profit received a well-deserved donation Wednesday.
Family Outreach of Corpus Christi was awarded a $500 check from the Coastal A's and Rods, a local car club. Funding for the donation came from funds raised by the groups annual Memorial Day car show.
This particular non-profit works with trauma victims and families.
"Everything from play therapy to counseling services, to support groups and classes. All these things we do to help, to help families that are struggling, families that are recovering from trauma, and especially the children," said Jody Kuhl, executive director of Family Outreach. "We want to make sure we do everything we can to prevent child abuse."
The donation will go toward training play therapists in our area. This is the last of seven charities the Coastal A's and Rods have donated to this year.
