A Port Arthur woman was left bloodied and beaten after a home-invader burst into her home Friday morning.
According to a news release issued Friday afternoon, dispatchers sent officers to a home located at 3133 Tyle where the caller said a woman, covered in blood, was beating on the front door. When officers arrived they said they found a 30-year-old woman had been victim to an intruder at her home located at 3145 Tyler.
Officers said the woman had been bound and had gunshot and other injuries.
During the investigation officers found that the victim's car was gone and is believed to have been taken by the intruder.
The victim was taken to Christus Hospital St. Mary and then transferred to Ben Taub Hospital in Houston.
No arrests have been made.
The investigation is ongoing through the Major Crimes Unit of the Criminal Investigations Division of the Port Arthur Police Department.
