The Beaumont Police Department has identified a man who died in an accident on the Neches River Bridge Saturday.
A news release issued Sunday morning identifies the man as Steven Scott Curtis, 31, of Bridge City.
The accident happened just before 3 p.m. Saturday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 10 on the bridge. Police say a Gray 2004 Toyota Corolla slowed for a traffic backup caused by a previous accident. A black 2011 Ford F-350 struck the Corolla, knocking it into another vehicle.
There were three people in the Corolla, a female driver, a one-year-old child in a rear facing car seat in the back and Mr. Curtis.
Police say no one else in the accident sustained major injuries.
The statement issued Sunday says no charges have been filed.
