Evadale woman killed in auto-pedestrian accident

An Evadale woman is dead following an auto-pedestrian accident in Jasper County.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident happened on Highway 62 near County Road 806.

The investigating trooper says Jana Nicole Fachorn, 27, of Evadale, was standing in the northbound lane of Highway 62 when she was struck by a 1995 Ford Mustang that was heading north on Highway 62.

Fachorn was pronounced dead by Justice of the Peace Becky Cleveland.

The driver of the Mustang, identified as Robert A Perry, 37, of Groves, was not injured.

A news release issued by the DPS says the investigation is ongoing, but charges are not expected to be filed in the case.
