A four car chain-reaction accident sent three people to the hospital Tuesday night.
Investigators on scene told a 12 News photographer that a man driving a pickup westbound on FM 1442 in Bridge City hit a car causing it to spin and hit an SUV. The pickup continued to travel a half-mile down the road hitting a Toyota Yaris, then hit a utility poll, a fence and finally stopped after hitting a house on Lafitte Street.
A mother and her baby from the first car were taken to the hospital.
At least one person involved in the accident was taken by air ambulance in serious condition to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth.
The driver of the Yaris was an off-duty Beaumont police officer who suffered minor injuries.
Investigators on scene say there is a possibility the driver of the pick-up suffered a medical condition causing the accident
