Motorcyclists Host Memorial Ride for Brian Barrera
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Hundreds of motorcyclists took part in a memorial ride Sunday for 37-year old Brian Barrera, a father of three who passed away on Saturday.
Barrera was involved in a crash on Roddfield Road Wednesday night and never woke up. On Sunday, hundreds of friends and family members gathered at McCaws Pub on the corner of Weber and Saratoga. Folks from all over Texas showed their support to his family.
After a prayer, all of the bikers and cars hit the road on a memorial ride to where the accident happened on Wednesday night.
"It could have been prevented, but it's a stepping stone to say, lets be more aware; safer on road, and conscious on the road to prevent things like this from happening," said Miguel Johnson, president of the Cyclone Riders.
A barbecue benefit and a silent auction were held to help the family with the funeral expenses. Barrera's funeral arrangements are set for next week.
