Man in Serious Condition After Duval County Rollover Accident

DUVAL COUNTY (Kiii News) -

A Houston area man was seriously injured after rolling his pickup truck several times  Wednesday morning in Duval County.

The driver, 29 year-old Mauricio Mendoza of Conroe, TX, was taken by HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in serious condition.

The rollover happened around 8:30 a.m., some seven miles north of Freer. The Department of Public Safety said Mendoza was traveling south on U.S. Highway 59 when he veered off the roadway, overcorrected and lost control of the vehicle. The truck ended up right-side-up in a ravine.

DPS officials said a seat belt saved the Mendoza's life.
