Annual Greek Festival Draws Thousands Over the Weekend

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Thousands stopped by the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church to sink their teeth into some of the best Greek cuisine in the country this weekend.

The occasion was the Greek Festival, an event that continues to grow every year.

As folks wined and dined, they were entertained with dancing and music. For one first-timer, who had never been to Greek Fest before, but always wanted to check it out, it was the food that sparked her interest.

"We've heard so much about it, the food," said Denise Thomas. "Kept hearing about the food, and we came out and tried everything, and it's really, really good."

Sunday was the last day for the Greek Festival, but if you still want to sample some of the treats, keep an eye out for the bake sale the church puts on several times throughout the year.
