Valero Holds Luncheon in Appreciation of Nearly 200 Veterans

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

Employees at the Valero refinery organized a luncheon Wednesday to show their appreciation to the men and women who have, or are currently, serving our great country.

They decided to do this in advance of Veterans Day, which is Monday. The idea  stemmed from one of their own refinery workers.

"It just got me thinking, and made me realize, are we reaching out here in South Texas?" said Sherry Carrillo, who came up with the idea. "It just hits home for me."

It was the first time Valero has held an appreciation for members of our armed forces. They expect to make it an annual tradition.
