A Kemp's-Ridley sea turtle that went on quite a journey recently is now being nursed back to health at a rehab facility on Mustang Island.
Flip, a Kemp's-Ridley sea turtle, was discovered last year in Holland. It was weak and in bad shape, but has since been rehabilitated. It was brought to the Animal Rehabilitation Keep, or ARK, in Port Aransas last week so it could start getting acclimated to the South Texas water, and soon, he'll be set free.
Flip will be put back in the water at 11 a.m. Friday, at Malaquite Beach. He will have a tracking device attached to him so his movements can be monitored.
In fact, you can follow Flip's journey once he is put back in the water. Just go to www.seaturtle.org and go to the tracking tab, where you can search Flip's name.
