Motorcyclist Suffers Serious Head Trauma in Accident
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
A man is fighting for his life after he lost control of his motorcycle to avoid hitting another car Thursday night.
The accident happened just before 10 p.m. Thursday near Holly and Williams. Investigators said the driver of a blue car barely noticed the motorcycle because the bike didn't have a headlight.
The 21-year old driver of motorcycle ended up losing control and crashed. Officers said he was not wearing a helmet.
"Very unfortunate. Certainly people need to watch out for motorcycles in our community, but certainly it would also be a good idea for motorcyclists to wear helmets to begin with, and have all the equipment on the bikes working," said Captain Ed Shannon of the Corpus Christi Police Department.
The rider suffered serious head trauma, and was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital. Police said no citations will be issued.
