It was a horrible scene on Highway 77 in San Patricio, as two 18-wheelers collided.
The collision happened outside of Sinton, near the San Patricio County line. Department of Public Safety troopers said an 18-wheeler hauling produce was entering back on the highway at around 1 a.m. Friday when it was struck by a big rig carrying auto parts.
The force of the crash spewed auto parts all over the highway, and caused the panels of the 18-wheelers to peel off.
"Nobody was killed, but we have one individual that was taken to the hospital with injuries," DPS Trooper Charlie Ramirez said.
The driver hauling the auto parts was sent by HALO Flight to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital. Police said he will receive a ticket for causing the accident.
