Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports)- Friday Night Sports Blitz Part III-

After struggling on offense earlier this season, the Calallen Wildcats appear to be hitting on all cylinders. The District 30-4A runners up steam rolled visiting Victoria East 77-27. It's the highest point total for the 'Cats in several seasons, and should set the tone for Calallen's annual journey into the Class 4A playoffs.

Aransas Pass coach Gary Davenport followed through on a promise to get the Panthers back to the playoffs in his first year back at AP. His team's 41-13 win over Mathis on Friday night eliminated the need for a series of complex district tiebreakers and pushed the Panthers and Odem into the postseason.

Ben Bolt avoided the possibility of a tiebreaker by manhandling visiting Monte Alto 37-14. The Badgers final home game of the regular season turned out to be a great playoff tune up for Big Blue, as they clinched a District 16A playoff spot outright.

A special congratulations to our Blitz Band of the Year. Calallen's Wildcat Marching Band won an online vote over nine other weekly winners to take home the hardware and make a second appearance on our Marching Scoreboard.
