Warriors on Wheels Ride from Wichita Falls to Corpus Christi

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A group of service men and women called Warriors on Wheels are raising money to help fellow soldiers who have been injured in the battlefield.

They have been peddling their bikes for 500 miles. They cycled all the way from Wichita Falls to Corpus Christi, arriving here on Sunday. Some made the journey on specialized bicycles that fit their special needs.

The purpose for peddling all this way? To help other soldiers through a non-profit group called Operation Comfort.

"It's motivation. It's a good chance to give back," said Charles Lemon,  a San Antonio man from the U.S. Army.

Lemon is not only helping other wounded warriors. He is one himself; and through his dedication, he is an example to others. An inspiration to overcome any obstacle.

"My injuries have not stopped me from doing anything. If anything, I have done more since my injuries. It's a blessing. I'm just thankful to be here," Lemon said.
