It was a Texas-sized thank you, so to speak, for local veterans on Monday, as they were treated to a free lunch at Texas Roadhouse.
The restaurant was packed Monday afternoon as the men and women of our armed forces showed up to take advantage of the offer. It is something that Texas Roadhouse does every year, and something the vets appreciate.
"I think of it as precious as can be for people that need it, the soldiers, the recognition," said retired Sergeant Rudy Padron of the U.S. Marines. "And they've taking the initiative to go one extra mile for us."
"I think it's a phenomenal idea, and I really appreciate them coming out, because I know they don't open up this early," veteran Precious Farrell said.
All 385 Texas Roadhouse locations across the country participated in Monday's free veteran's lunch offer.
