Charitable Organizations Get Help in Online Fundraiser

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

The Coastal Bend Day of Giving is going on until midnight Tuesday. It is an online fundraiser for about 30 non-profit organizations that operate from right here in the Coastal Bend.

The process is simple. You log on to the website, www.coastalbenddayofgiving.org, and donate a minimum of $10 to the charity of your choice.

"Government does not have enough money to do what we need to do, and without the wonderful volunteers and organizations who work to help people, it couldn't get done," said Judge Loyd Neal. "So please, take a moment make a contribution. This is our day to make this happen."

The Coastal Bend Day of Giving lasts only for 24 hours, so you still have just under seven hours to make a contribution, and those funds you donate are actually matched by other organizations.

Here at Kiii News, we are a proud media sponsor of the Coastal Bend Day of Giving event, and we wanted to see what was going on behind the scenes as online contributions are being made throughout the day.

Kiii News Reporter Jessica James went Live Tuesday night from the Coastal Bend Day of Giving headquarters with more on what's going on.
