Boys high school basketball season began on Tuesday night with the state-ranked Carroll Tigers hosting Port Lavaca.

The Tigers, ranked #25 in the preseason polls, grabbed a quick lead and kept the pressure on with great transition defense.

Carroll's 60-34 victory served notice that the Tigers could be one of the area's top boys teams this winter.
