City Approves Lighting the Packery Channel Parking Lot

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

On Tuesday, City Council approved spending nearly $68,000 for American Electric Power to get the parking lot lit, something that residents have wanted for quite some time.

"There's many fishermen who come out, so it will provide light for safety, so they can see," City Parks Director Michael Morris said. "Get trailers in and out, and boats off trailers."

The Packery Channel Tax Increment Financing District is funding the improvements. The City hopes that the lights will be in place by the first of the year.
