Friday Night Sports Blitz- Part III November 16, 2012

Posted: Updated:

Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports) Friday Night Sports Blitz Part III- The Alice Coyotes joined the rest of District 31-4A in heading south to the Rio Grande Valley for round one of the playoffs. Alice, buoyed by a long-distance field goal in the first half, rolled past Mercedes 31-15. That sets up a second round showdown with former district rival Calallen.

Last week's late win over Ray earned Miller a trip to Edcouch-Elsa for the opening round of the playoffs. The Yellow Jackets proved to be too much, as they held the Bucs big play offense in check for a 35-3 win.

Aransas Pass made its first playoff appearance in a decade on Friday night. That was the good news. The bad news turned out to be wearing Marion Bulldog uniforms, and the Panthers wound up on the short end of a 34-28 score.

Ben Bolt also found the going tough on Friday night as they were badgered by Ganado, 55-35.

The King Mustangs provided the musical entertainment for our Playoff Edition of the Marching Scoreboard.
