Local 21-Year Old Killed in Shooting at Ayers Gas Station

Posted: Updated:
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

A local 21-year old was killed in a shooting just before midnight Sunday, at a gas station in the 6200 block of Ayers near Bevecrest.

Police said the shooting may have stemmed from an armed, attempted carjacking.

Sadly, 21-year old Casimiro Guerra was in the backseat of the car and was hit by a bullet.

Investigators said friends of Guerra rushed him to Christus Spohn South, but he died en route.

The stores surveillance videos show the two men detectives are looking for. They could be seen making a purchase at the store just before the shooting occurred.

Police say it does not appear that the shooting was gang related.

"My understanding is the victim was only shot once, struck once," said Captain Brady of the Corpus Christi Police Department.

If you have any information regarding this homicide, please call Crime Stoppers at 361-888-8477.
