Red on Yella, Kill a Fella Movie Being Filmed in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -

From Pearl Harbor to the Selena movie, Hollywood is no stranger to the Coastal Bend; and that tradition continues with another movie shooting right now in the area.

The film is called Red on Yella, Kill a Fella. It revolves around a band of outlaws making their way through Texas on the hunt for a mysterious object.

The film is in its third week of shooting. On Tuesday, they were shooting the climax on North Beach.

The filmmakers are actually local products, both attending Carroll High School and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. They said it has been a long journey to get this film on screen.

"We actually wrote it about five years ago. Pitched it to a representative. Financed it ourselves, and we jumped right into it," co-director and actor Justin Meeks said.

Corpus Christi's own Pepe Serna is also in the movie.
