Fire officials in Robstown were investigating the cause of a small fire at the old Salazar Elementary School on Tuesday. Neighbors noticed the flames just after 6 p.m.
Amateur video from a neighbor showed the flames rolling out of the door to a storage unit at the old school.
Salazar Elementary was replaced with the new Irma Romero Elementary school this year. While the structure has been vacant, power was still on at the school.
It took crews about 30 minutes to put out the fire. They were able to contain it to just two storage units on the campus. Firefighters are not sure at this point if the fire was electrical or if it was intentionally set.
