Crime Stoppers: Police Seek Bank Robbery Suspect

Police are on the lookout for a brazen bank robber, and a cash reward could be yours if you can help them find their man.

Robbery detectives need your help to identify the individual responsible for the robbery at the Compass Bank in Mission Shopping Center on Oct. 12.

A man entered the bank and displayed a pistol to the tellers, demanding all the cash. He was described as a white male who stands about six-feet tall and weighs about 200 pounds. He wore a brown baseball cap, sunglasses, a bandana wrapped around his face, a long sleeve green shirt and baggy blue jeans.

The suspect was last seen running west from the bank toward the Crosstown Expressway.

    Two Edinburg Police Officers are recovering after they were shot Tuesday evening in La Joya as they attempted to serve a capital murder warrant. The suspect in the shooting, 29-year-old Joaquin Cibrian, was shot and killed following an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement. Cibrian was arrested in September of last year in Alice for allegedly using city equipment and materials to make extra cash. He was a city employee at the time.More >>
