Corpus Christi (kiii sports)- The Alice Coyotes scored early and played solid defense on Friday afternoon as they beat former district rival Calallen 17-7 in the rain in Beeville. Alice will now play the winner of Saturday's Cedar Park vs. Kerrville Tivy game on Friday night in San Antonio.

Refugio continued its march towards a second straight Class 2A State Championship on Friday. The Bobcats manhandled Rogers 76-35 in Columbus to advance to round three of the playoffs and a rematch of last year's state semifinal game against Lexington
