ALICE (Kiii News) -

The Alice Police Department plans to get rid of unclaimed property that has been acquired during the course of criminal investigations.

The property includes everything from lawn and gardening equipment to tools, electronics and a wide array of bicycles. These are items the police have seized for a variety of reasons, or items that the rightful owners never bothered to reclaim.

"Sometimes during an investigation, whether it be a theft or a burglary or some type of investigation," said Lt. Tony Aguilar of the Alice Police Department. "And you know these items are located and found, we just never find the owners of them."

They will be auctioning off the items at the Jim Wells County Fairgrounds at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8.
