Woman Charged with Money Laundering After Routine Traffic Stop

KINGSVILLE (Kiii News) -

In Kingsville, a 40-year old woman is behind bars after being charged with money laundering following a routine traffic stop.

The Kingsville Special Crimes and Narcotics task force found $189,000 inside her vehicle during a traffic stop Monday afternoon on Highway 77, heading south near County Road 2230.

Authorities said the driver appeared nervous, and upon inspection of the vehicle, the money was found hidden near the wheel well.

The woman has been charged with money laundering and was booked at the Kleberg County Jail.
