Canales Wins #500 As Tigers Edge 'Cats 53-47

Corpus Christi (Kiii Sports) - Longtime Carroll girls basketball coach Leticia Canales joined some select company on Tuesday night as she won her 500th game as a high school coach.

Canales, in her 18th season at Carroll, got a strong challenge from state-ranked G-P in a spirited game in Portland. The Tigers finally pulled away to a 53-47 win over the Lady Wildcats.

Next up on her to-do list is a return to the playoffs this season after missing the postseason for just the 3rd time in the past 19 years last season.
