Some first-year college students at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi were busy making the grade on Wednesday.
Students with the first-year learning communities program, which helps freshmen make a successful academic and social transition from high school to the university, were busy showing off their first semester projects on Wednesday.
Their projects focused on real-world issues like environmental sustainability, history and science.
This first-year learning communities program has been awarded a Texas Higher Education Star Award by the Texas Higher Education Board.
