The top-ranked Refugio Bobcats were the only area team to survive Friday night's regional round action in the high school football playoffs.
#1 Refugio once again beat #10 Lexington, this time 49-21 in what was a rematch of last year's state semifinals. The Bobcats now face #4 East Bernard next Friday at 7:30 at Texas State University in San Marcos, TX.
The Alice Coyotes couldn't capitalize off their upset of Calallen last week as they fell to Cedar Park 36-7 over in San Antonio.
The Woodsboro Eagles' magical season also came to an end with a 46-6 loss to Falls City. This was the first time the Eagles had made the postseason in 24 years.
Ingleside's season also was ended at the hands of El Campo 31-20. El Campo remained undefeated at 13-0.
