Jury Selection Begins in Former Alice Police Officer Murder Case - KiiiTV3.com South Texas, Corpus Christi, Coastal Bend

The jury selection process got underway on Monday, for the capital murder trial of a former Alice police officer accused of killing his wife.

Jose Gonzalez, 44, is charged in the fatal shooting of his 31-year old wife, Leslie Morin, at her parents' house in Annaville back in December of last year.

Following the shooting, Gonzales took his eight-year old son hostage and escaped to his home in Alice before surrendering. If found guilty of the charge, he could face up to life in prison.
