Terry Mills Reelected President of Local NAACP Chapter
CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii News) -
Terry Mills has been reelected as president of the local chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, or NAACP.
This will be Mills' third term as head of the Corpus Christi chapter of the NAACP. The election was held last week, and 99-year old Mrs. Howard cast the deciding ballot in the election.
"That means that our present president and staff has done a good job, not just for black people, but people, and that speaks well," NAACP member Mrs. Howard said.
"I see the NAACP taken to the next level, especially with education," Mills said. "Education is bad across the board. White, black or Hispanic. We need to bring up the grades in math, science, English. We need to be back at the top."
Mills, along with all of the other members of the organization, was actually running unopposed.
