Industrial Job Fair Hosted at Richard Borchard Fairgrounds

ROBSTOWN (Kiii News) -

Job seekers flocked to the Richard Borchard Fairgrounds in Robstown for an industrial job fair on Tuesday.

Jobs in the energy and oil fields were up for grabs, including construction and transportation jobs; but what was most surprising is that there were jobs up for grabs that did not involve getting your hands dirty. In fact, there were customer service and clerical jobs available for the taking.

"My past four or five years, I've been working," job seeker Kristi Pavelka said. "If it wasn't outside sales, inside it was in the administration department. There's a lot more to oilfields than being a roughneck."

"I came over to see my opportunities," job seeker Abel Deleon said. "There's a lot of opportunities out here. Truck driving, construction and whatnot."

A total of 2000 jobs were up for grabs at Tuesday's career expo.
