Ten Illegal Immigrants Detained in Kingsville After Bailout

KINGSVILLE (Kiii News) -

A Thursday morning bailout resulted in the capture of ten illegal immigrants in Kingsville.

Dash-cam video captured footage of a tan sport utility vehicle as authorities gave chase and pulled the vehicle over at a convenience store along Highway 77. Once the vehicle stopped, a number of immigrants fled into a nearby field.

At one point, a law enforcement officer got in a tussle with one of the immigrants, but the immigrant managed to escape.

Upon further investigation, several more immigrants were found in the back of the SUV.

"From what I was told, several of them came from South Central America, but exactly where they are from, I'm not sure," said Commander Julian Cavazos of the Kingsville Police Department. "They didn't give me that information."

The immigrants that were captured were handed over to U.S. Border Patrol agents. Authorities said four managed to escape capture.
